Canoe To Canvas
Like the silent stroke of a paddle on a serene Algonquin Lake, I touch my brush to canvas…
As a lifelong resident of Ontario, I am fortunate to have grown up in a family that thrived in the outdoors. In 1965, my parents, brother and sister immigrated from West Germany to Ontario. I was born in 1969. As a family, our weekends were spent exploring the outer reaches of Ontario’s natural places. We hiked, paddled, explored, and found great inspiration in the beauty of our wilderness, specifically Algonquin Park.
For 30+ years, I have found success as a Commercial Artist in the Architectural field. Formally trained as a Technical Illustrator, my path led me to Architectural rendering and my own Architectural Rendering business. When I wasn’t working, I was immersed in Nature, finding a place to quiet my mind and recharge. Cycling, Paddling, Fishing, Archery and Hiking are mainstays of my leisure time. Together with my wife Carla, and our 3 kids, we continue to explore our beautiful country.
This collection of work represents my escape from the noise and stress of our busy lives. Through these works, you can journey with me into the calm and tranquil backcountry. Paddle, pack and paintbrush in hand, I am guided by the principles instilled in me as a child and strive to carry on this tradition to honour those who came before us, and to inspire those who follow.
Dedicated to my Parents,
Rose and Otto Janeck
